Joseph J. Maraziti, Jr., Esq.
Joseph J. Maraziti, Jr. has advised public and private sector clients regarding environmental and infrastructure-related issues and has successfully litigated matters involving a wide variety of environmental law and regulations. He is active in professional and civic organizations regarding the environment. He has served on the New Jersey Supreme Court Committee on Environmental Litigation, was the founding chair of the Morris County Bar Association Environmental Law Committee, is an associate of the Environmental Law Institute and a frequent lecturer on environmental and redevelopment topics. Mr. Maraziti has served on the Environment of the 21st Century Task Force of the New Jersey General Assembly, as well as Chairman of Morris 2000. He was a member of the Regional Plan Association and Vice-Chairman of New Jersey Future. He has been listed as one of the Best Environmental Lawyers in New Jersey in editions of Best Lawyers in America.

Litigated issues involving interpretation of a wide variety of environmental and redevelopment statutes and regulations, including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Federal Water
Pollution Control Act (Clean Water Act), The New Jersey Housing and Redevelopment Act, The Fish and Wildlife Coordination Act, Safe Drinking Water Act, Comprehensive Environmental
Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), Administrative Procedures Act, New Jersey Housing and Redevelopment Law, New Jersey Water Pollution Control Act, New Jersey Spill
Compensation and Control Act, Solid Waste Management Act, and Freshwater Wetlands Protection Act and other related state and federal statutes and regulations.
Negotiated multi million dollar urban development agreements and successfully defended litigation regarding redevelopment projects.
Successfully represented public bodies in Federal District Court cases which resulted in precedential decisions in the field of environmental litigation, including the earliest decision which recognized the right of a municipality to recover for Natural Resource Damages under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA).
Testified before New Jersey Senate Environmental Committee, regarding Senate Bill 1070, Industrial Site Recovery Act (ECRA Reform). Testified before various United States Senate and House of Representatives Committees regarding environmental legislation.
