On October 31, 2018, Maraziti Falcon obtained a judgment in favor of the Rockaway Valley Regional Sewerage Authority, in Jersey City Municipal Utilities Auth., et al. v. Town of Dover, et al., Docket No. MRS-L-1313. The judgment affirms the responsibility of Jersey City to contribute its share of the annual cost of operating and maintaining the RVRSA wastewater treatment facilities, for as long the facilities are maintained in operation. Jersey City’s assessed share of such costs in 2016 and 2017 was roughly $3.5 million in each year. The RVRSA facilities operate continuously, protecting the water quality of the Rockaway River – a source of public water supply for Jersey City.
